Fastest 200-Plus Run Chases In IPL History
RCB completed the fastest 200-plus run chase in IPL history.
The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) etched their name in IPL history on Sunday with the fastest successful run-chase of 200 or more runs.
Facing the Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, RCB chased down a target of 201 runs in a mere 16 overs, shattering the previous record of 16.3 overs held by Mumbai Indians.
Opener Will Jacks was the star of the show, blasting a scintillating 41-ball century, the fifth fastest in IPL history. Jacks hammered 29 runs off Rashid in the 16th over, and it was the over in which he completed his century by hitting the last ball for a six when only one run was needed for RCB to win.
Virat Kohli provided excellent support from the other end, remaining unbeaten on a steady 70 off 44 balls. The duo stitched together a phenomenal 166-run partnership for the second wicket in just 74 balls, effectively ending any hopes of a Gujarat Titans comeback.
This victory cements RCB’s place at the top of the list for the fastest successful chases of 200-plus runs in IPL history. Here’s a look at the top five:
