The 47th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 will witness the clash between Kolkata Knight Riders hosting the Delhi Capitals at Eden Gardens on April 29, Monday.
Delhi Capitals now has a new opening combination who will be plying their trade for them. Abishek Porel is opening with Jake Fraser-McGurk, who has been destructive with the willow in hand.
At three and four, they have Shai Hope and Rishabh Pant respectively. Hope has improved his range and has reinvented his game to meet the expectations of the modern T20 approach. He will control the innings while playing at three.
Pant has returned to form and he’s now fit and firing. Pant will look to maximize the middle overs of the innings with his brutal hitting.
Tristan Stubbs: Delhi’s Batting Powerhouse
Tristan Stubbs has been the most important player for Delhi this season with his consistency in churning out huge scores at a monstrous strike rate.
Kumar Kushagra is still an unknown commodity at this level. The keeper-batsman from Jharkhand will have to prove himself on the big stage.
Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav: Delhi’s Spin Duo
Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav will make up the spin attack for Delhi. Patel will also be used as a floater in order to attack spin in the middle overs, which also enhances the depth of the batting.
Khaleel Ahmed and Lizaad Williams will take up the new ball in search of new ball movement and swing. Khaleel, in the absence of the regular death bowlers of Delhi, will also bowl a couple of overs in the final phase.
Mukesh Kumar, who prefers bowling with the new ball, will take up the role of being the middle overs enforcer while also being the designated death bowler for Delhi.
