Mohammad Rizwan Labels Virat Kohli an Average Player
Mohammad Rizwan said ‘If you look at the average, you are an average player’.

Pakistan secured a thrilling comeback victory against Ireland in the second T20I in Dublin on Sunday, levelling the three-match series at 1-1.
Chasing a challenging 194-run target, Pakistan rode on a magnificent partnership between Mohammad Rizwan (75) and Fakhar Zaman (78) to seal the win with 3.1 overs to spare.
Earlier, Ireland posted a mammoth total thanks to fifties from Lorcan Tucker (51) and Harry Tector (43). However, Shaheen Shah Afridi’s early double strike pegged back the Irish innings.
Pakistan’s chase got off to a shaky start with the dismissals of Saim Ayub and Babar Azam inside the powerplay. But Rizwan and Zaman stitched a match-winning partnership of 140 runs to take control of the chase.
Azam Khan’s late cameo (30 off 10 balls) further ensured a comfortable win for the visitors. Meanwhile, Rizwan, after his match-winning knock that pushed his T20I average above 50, offered a rather philosophical take in the post-match conference:
“If a player looks at his average then he will become an average player.”
Rizwan is only the second player after Indian batting stalwart Virat Kohli to have an average of above 50 in T20 Internationals. This ‘average’ statement of Rizwan, however, has not sat well with the netizens.
Let’s take a look at some of the reactions:
