Virat Kohli’s Frustration Erupts Over Faf du Plessis’ Controversial Dismissal During RCB vs CSK
Faf du Plessis was adjudged out by the third umpire in the must-win game against CSK.
The high-stakes battle for a playoff spot in IPL 2024 witnessed a fiery moment during the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) vs Chennai Super Kings (CSK) clash at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
A controversial dismissal of RCB captain Faf du Plessis sparked outrage, particularly from teammate Virat Kohli. It all happened on the final ball of the 13th over. Du Plessis, at the non-striker’s end, saw Rajat Patidar smash the delivery towards the ground.
CSK’s Mitchell Santner attempted a diving stop, deflecting the ball onto the stumps. The replays revealed a potentially tight call – had Du Plessis grounded his bat before the ball hit the stumps? The third umpire deemed him out. However, the real fireworks happened off the field.
Cameras captured Virat Kohli, back in the dressing room after his earlier dismissal, visibly fuming. He was seen gesturing and flailing his arms in anger, clearly unhappy with the decision that put RCB in a difficult position.
