RR vs RCB: Sunil Gavaskar Picks Winner in IPL 2024 Eliminator
RCB will be facing RR in the Eliminator game of the IPL 2024.
The IPL 2024 playoffs heat up on Wednesday as Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) clash in the Eliminator at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. The winner progresses to Qualifier 2 against SunRisers Hyderabad, while the loser’s season ends.
Rajasthan Royals, the 2008 champions, enter the match in a worrying form. After a strong run, they have suffered four consecutive defeats and a washout. On the other hand, RCB are on a roll, having secured six consecutive victories to secure a spot in the playoffs.
The loss of key opener Jos Buttler has significantly weakened RR’s batting. The responsibility now falls on youngsters Yashasvi Jaiswal (348 runs), skipper Sanju Samson (504 runs), and Riyan Parag (531 runs) to revive their form and stop the slide.
Gavaskar Declares RCB As Clear Winner
Legendary Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar predicts a potentially one-sided affair. He lauded RCB’s senior players, Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli, for their leadership and the team’s overall comeback after a poor start.
“Rajasthan…they have been out of practice,” Gavaskar said on Star Sports. “Unless they do something extraordinary…it could well turn out to be another one-sided game…where RCB will walk all over RR. I will be surprised if that does not happen.”
The winner of this high-stakes encounter will face Sunrisers Hyderabad in Qualifier 2 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Only one team will keep their IPL 2024 dream alive.
