Gautam Gambhir Emerges as Front Runner for Head Coach of Team India
Gautam Gambhir is currently the front-runner for India’s head coach position.
While BCCI secretary Jayesh Shah has made it clear that they are not considering overseas head coaches for the position, prioritizing local expertise, reports suggest Gautam Gambhir is leading the race.
Earlier reports indicated Gautam Gambhir had been approved by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for the role, and now it’s confirmed he’s the front runner, with the BCCI close to convincing him.
If Gautam Gambhir takes on the role of head coach, he will have to relinquish his position as mentor of the Kolkata Knight Riders. Gambhir joined KKR as a mentor for IPL 2024, guiding the team to the tournament final.
With Gambhir’s renowned cricketing acumen, he will undoubtedly provide invaluable guidance to Team India, aiming to end their ICC trophy drought.
