Mitchell Starc, who endured a challenging first half of the season, transformed into a force to be reckoned with in the latter stages. He had already been SRH’s nemesis in the first qualifier, and in the final, he once again proved their kryptonite.
His early strikes, dismissing key openers Abhishek Sharma and Rahul Tripathi in quick succession, shattered SRH’s top order. The Hyderabad batting line-up never recovered, eventually collapsing for a meagre 113 runs.
