Star All-Rounder Ruled Out of Pakistan’s T20 World Cup Opener
Pakistan all-rounder Imad Wasim ruled out of the opening game against USA in T20 World Cup 2024.
Before their T20 World Cup 2024 opener against co-hosts USA, Pakistan faces a huge blow as star all-rounder Imad Wasim will miss the match due to a side strain, confirmed by the Pakistan Cricket Board.
The Pakistan all-rounder suffered a rib pain during Pakistan’s series against England, and even missed the fourth T20I. He first felt the discomfort in his right rib during a net session before the final T20I against England on May 30 at The Oval.
Speaking to the press, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam confirmed that the all-rounder will be fit for the remaining fixtures.
“The medical staff is monitoring him and he will be available for the remaining matches in the World Cup,” the Pakistan skipper told the media.
Pakistan is grouped with India, USA, and Ireland in Group A. After their match against the USA, Pakistan will confront their arch-rivals India on June 9.
