‘Babar Azam Will Finish Pakistan Cricket’ – Imam-Ul-Haq Mocks Pakistan Captain on National TV

Babar Azam has been under intense scrutiny after Pakistan’s disappointing defeat against USA in their T20 World Cup 2024 opener.

Pakistan’s T20 World Cup 2024 campaign got off to a disastrous start with a shocking defeat to associate nation USA in a super over thriller.

Adding fuel to the fire, a video of Pakistan opener Imam-ul-Haq has gone viral, sparking controversy. Imam, a close friend of captain Babar Azam, was seen laughing hysterically on a local news show during a segment where fan tweets were being discussed.

The laughter erupted after an anti-Babar Azam tweet was read out. The tweet, laced with sarcasm, called Babar a “great finisher” who would “end up finishing Pakistan cricket someday.”

While the show host deemed the tweet unfair criticism, Imam and another panellist were seen in uncontrollable laughter.

Babar Azam’s performance, particularly his slow knock in the powerplay with a strike rate of 102.33, was a major talking point after the loss. This has fueled the fire of online criticism, with some fans directing their anger towards the skipper.

Pakistan will be locking horns with the archrivals India on Sunday, June 9 at Nassau County Cricket Stadium, New York.
