The 22nd match of the 13th season of the Indian Premier League was played between SunRisers Hyderabad and Kings XI Punjab at Dubai International Stadium on Thursday (October 8).

Winning the toss, SunRisers Hyderabad captain David Warner elected to bat first. Batting first, they posted 201 runs on the scoreboard, losing 6 wickets in 20 overs, thanks to the half-centuries of Jonny Bairstow and David Warner.

Chasing the target, the entire team of Kings XI Punjab were all out after scoring 132 runs in 16.5 overs.

Was Bit Nervous While Nicholas Was Hitting: David Warner

SRH captain David Warner praised Nicholas Pooran for his phenomenal innings and said that he was bit nervous when he was hitting sixes. He also mentioned that he always had high prospects of Rashid Khan. Also, he considers himself fortunate as he had been able to play with him in Bangladesh.

“I was a bit nervous while Nicholas was hitting it over the stands. I have always had high prospects of that kid. I have always had high prospects of that kid. I was fortunate to play in Bangladesh with him. You always think, ‘What can I do, how can I get him out?’.

“He’s (Rashid) a world-class bowler, it’s great to have him. He always delivers in pressure situations. He loves that stuff. What a player,” said David Warner in the post-match presentation.

He also mentioned Bhuvneshwar Kumar and wished him all the best. Bhuvneshwar Kumar ruled out of the IPL 2020 due to the thigh injury. He was the key bowler of SRH. Warner, on the other hand, also believes that having one of the best death bowlers out of the team gives others an opportunity for others.

“Sad for Bhuvi, we wish him all the best, but having one of our best death bowlers out of the team gives others an opportunity for others,” said Warner.

He further added that he really enjoy batting with Jonny Bairstow.

“We love batting with each other. We pride ourselves in running hard between wickets. At the moment, I am just rotating strike for him (Bairstow). We enjoy batting with each other.

We tried to negate the swing by coming at them (KXIP bowlers). We have got a tough game against RR, a day game, have to start fresh again,” he concluded.
