MI Emirates Set a Challenging Target

After being sent in to bat, MI Emirates put up 187/7 in their 20 overs. Captain Nicholas Pooran played a blazing knock of 59 runs from just 29 balls, smashing six sixes during his innings. Tom Banton anchored the innings with a well-paced 74 off 52 balls, hitting nine boundaries and two sixes. Kieron Pollard chipped in with 22 runs but couldn’t finish strongly.

Dubai Capitals’ bowlers had a mixed outing. Gulbadin Naib was the pick of the bowlers, claiming three wickets for just 18 runs in his three overs. Olly Stone, despite being hit for three consecutive sixes by Pooran, managed to dismiss him and finished with figures of 2/31.

Shai Hope’s Century Goes in Vain

Chasing 188, Dubai Capitals relied heavily on Shai Hope, who played a remarkable knock of 101 runs off 59 balls. Hope’s innings included 11 fours and three sixes, but he lacked support from the other batters. Brandon McMullen added 16 runs, while Gulbadin Naib contributed 12 towards the end.

MI Emirates’ bowlers bowled tight lines and kept picking wickets at crucial intervals. Fazalhaq Farooqi and Alzarri Joseph took two wickets each, while Waqar Salamkheil and AM Ghazanfar chipped in with one wicket apiece.
