Sunrisers Eastern Cape (SEC) secured their third win in a row in SA20 2025 with a dominant 52-run victory over Pretoria Capitals (PC) at St George’s Park. Aiden Markram’s all-round performance and Marco Jansen’s brilliant bowling helped the Eastern Cape defend 149 runs comfortably.
SEC’s Batting Struggles but Markram Shines
Batting first, SEC faced early setbacks, losing three wickets inside four overs. Zak Crawley, Bedingham, and Abell fell cheaply as SEC were reduced to 14/3. Captain Aiden Markram held the innings together with an unbeaten 68 off 55 balls, hitting five boundaries and two sixes. Marco Jansen (24 off 20) and Liam Dawson (25 off 11) played vital cameos to push the total to 149/7 in 20 overs.
Eathan Bosch was the pick of the bowlers for PC, claiming 3 wickets for 33 runs. Will Jacks and Neesham also contributed with two and one wicket, respectively.
