India vs England 4th T20I – Match Highlights and Scorecard
India defeated England by 15 runs in the 4th T20I to take an unassailable 3-1 lead in the England tour of India 2025.
India secured a thrilling 15-run victory over England in Pune, sealing the five-match series 3-1 with a game to spare. The match saw several dramatic twists, including a top-order collapse, a crucial middle-order rescue act, and a controversial concussion substitution.
Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube Rescue Act
England won the toss and opted to field first, a decision that paid off early as Saqib Mahmood’s brilliant triple-wicket maiden left India struggling at 12/3. Sanju Samson, Tilak Varma, and skipper Suryakumar Yadav all departed without making an impact.
Abhishek Sharma and Rinku Singh tried to counterattack, but their dismissals left India at 79/5. However, Shivam Dube (53 off 34) and Hardik Pandya (53 off 30) stitched a vital partnership to revive India’s innings. Their aggressive stroke play helped India post a competitive total of 181/9. England pacer Jamie Overton bowled a brilliant final over, dismissing Pandya and Axar Patel while also striking Dube on the helmet with a sharp bouncer.
England’s Chase Falls
England started aggressively, with Ben Duckett (39 off 19) and Philip Salt (23 off 21) taking the attack to India’s bowlers. However, wickets at regular intervals halted their progress. Harry Brook (51 off 26) kept England in the hunt, but after his dismissal, the lower order failed to provide the finishing touch.
India’s bowlers stepped up in the middle and death overs, with Ravi Bishnoi (3/28) and Harshit Rana (3/33) leading the charge. The latter’s inclusion as a concussion substitute for Dube raised eyebrows, but he proved his worth by dismissing Liam Livingstone, Jacob Bethell and Jamie Overton. England were bowled out for 166 in 19.4 overs, handing India a 15-run win.
