IND vs PAK: ‘No Runs in the Family?’ – Sunil Gavaskar’s Savage Dig at Imam-ul-Haq’s Run-Out Will Leave You in Splits!
Ravi Shastri and Sunil Gavaskar hilariously trolled Imam-ul-Haq after his run-out against India.

Pakistan started their Champions Trophy 2025 clash against India with a solid approach, but their innings took an early hit as they lost two wickets in quick succession. Hardik Pandya sent Babar Azam back to the pavilion, and soon after, Imam-ul-Haq was run out due to a poor call for a single.
The dismissal of Imam-ul-Haq became a talking point in the commentary box. In the 10th over, the left-hander pushed a Kuldeep Yadav delivery towards mid-on and set off for a risky run. Axar Patel was quick to react, picking up the ball and hitting the stumps directly. Imam, despite a late dive, was well short of the crease and had to walk back after scoring just 10 runs off 26 balls.
Ravi Shastri, Sunil Gavaskar, and Wasim Akram, who were on commentary, couldn’t resist drawing comparisons to former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq, who had a history of getting run out. Shastri pointed out that Imam had now been run out six times in his career and humorously brought up Inzamam’s record of 46 run-outs in international cricket. He playfully questioned whether getting run out was a “family trait.”
Wasim Akram responded with a light-hearted remark, saying,
“No comment. Inzy will get upset. But I might be there somewhere as well. I wasn’t the best runner in the world. It (Imam’s run-out) was kind of a suicide run. There was no need for it. He was well set, and then that silly decision by Imam-ul-Haq. He is back in the dressing room.”
Later, Sunil Gavaskar added to the fun with a cheeky comment:
“Ravi, you asked whether it runs in the family? I think there’s no run in it.”
The moment brought back memories of Inzamam’s infamous run-outs, including his dismissal against India in 2005 and his controversial ‘obstructing the field’ dismissal in 2006 when he blocked a throw from Suresh Raina.
Pakistan had won the toss and opted to bat first, making one change to their XI by bringing in Imam-ul-Haq for Fakhar Zaman, who was ruled out due to injury.
