IPL 2025: “Three Captains in One Team”: Hardik Pandya on MI’s Leadership Strength

Hardik Pandya said he feels lucky to have Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, and Suryakumar Yadav in the team, as all three can step up as captains whenever needed.

Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Hardik Pandya has spoken about the strong leadership group in the team. He said he is lucky to have Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, and Suryakumar Yadav by his side. All three players have captaincy experience and can step up when needed.

Three Leaders in the Team

During a press conference, Hardik said, “I am lucky that I have three captains playing with me—Rohit, Surya, and Bumrah. They always place an arm around my shoulder and are there when I need any help.”

This statement shows the strong bond between the senior players. Rohit Sharma, the former MI captain, led the team to five IPL titles. Jasprit Bumrah has been a key player for MI for many years. Suryakumar Yadav has led India’s T20I team in recent matches.

Leadership Support for Hardik

Hardik Pandya was appointed MI captain before IPL 2024, replacing Rohit Sharma. However, the team had a disappointing season, finishing last in the points table. Despite this, Hardik remains confident about MI’s future.

Having three experienced leaders in the team will help MI in tough situations. Rohit, Bumrah, and Surya can provide valuable inputs and guide the younger players.

MI’s Plans for IPL 2025

Ahead of IPL 2025, MI made some important signings. Hardik mentioned the importance of strengthening the bowling attack. “Getting Trent Boult and Deepak Chahar was very important to us. We wanted an experienced bowling lineup so that when the pressure comes, we have players who have felt it before,” he said.

Mumbai Indians will aim for a better performance this season. With a strong squad and experienced leaders, they will look to bounce back in IPL 2025.
