Mumbai Indians handed a debut to Andhra pacer Satyanarayana Raju in their IPL 2025 match against Chennai Super Kings on Sunday.
The five-time champions signed him for his base price of Rs. 30 lakh in the IPL 2025 mega auction. The 25-year-old fast bowler has been a consistent performer in domestic cricket, earning his place in the MI squad.
Raju made a strong impact in the Andhra Premier League 2024, where he picked up eight wickets in seven matches for the Rayalaseema Kings while maintaining an economy rate of 6.15.
His ability to bowl economical spells in T20 cricket made him a standout performer in the tournament. He continued his good form in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024, where he played seven matches for Andhra, taking seven wickets at an average of 26.85 and an economy of 8.23.
Apart from his T20 performances, Raju has also impressed in red-ball cricket. He featured in the 2024/25 Ranji Trophy season for Andhra, where he bagged 16 wickets in six matches at an average of 30.18.
