No More India-Bangladesh Cricket? BCCI Deletes Bangladesh Tour Post Amid Political Uncertainty
The deleted BCCI post on India’s Bangladesh tour raises questions amid rising diplomatic strain.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the Indian men’s team’s tour of Bangladesh for 2025. The tour was set to include three ODIs and three T20Is in Mirpur and Chattogram. But just minutes after the schedule was posted, BCCI deleted the announcement, which surprised everyone.
BCB Was Happy with the Series
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) had welcomed the tour. The BCB CEO, Nizam Uddin Chowdhury, said that the matches would be exciting for fans in both countries. Here’s what he said:
“This series promises to be one of the most exciting and most anticipated events in our home calendar. India have set the benchmark in international cricket across all formats and the cricket-loving millions in both countries are sure to enjoy this contest.
The series was going to be special because this would have been the first time Bangladesh hosted India for a T20I series. The last time both teams met was in September and October 2024 in India, where the hosts won all five matches — two Tests and three T20Is.
Political Tensions May Be the Reason
Soon after the announcement, BCCI deleted the post without giving any reason. Many people on social media started to guess that the tour might be cancelled due to the growing political tension between the two nations.
There have been recent incidents and issues between the countries, and this may have made the BCCI unsure about sending the team to Bangladesh.
As of now, there is no official update from the BCCI on whether the tour will happen or not.
