Abhishek Nayar is set to return to the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the middle of IPL 2025, just days after his unexpected exit from the Indian cricket team’s coaching staff. While there is no official statement from either the BCCI or KKR, reports suggest that Nayar could be seen in the KKR dugout during their next match against Gujarat Titans at Eden Gardens on Monday.

KKR spinner Varun Chakravarthy added to the buzz by posting a cryptic Instagram story hinting at Nayar’s return. However, there’s still no confirmation from BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia, who said, “I will give you a clear picture and details in the next one-two days.”

Inside the KKR camp, Nayar is a respected figure. Even though the team has a new captain this season, sources say coach Chandrakant Pandit and captain Ajinkya Rahane would welcome him back. The KKR management is also expected to support his return.
