Shikhar Dhawan has given an injury update on DC’s skipper Shreyas Iyer. On Wednesday, he injured his shoulder during the match against Rajasthan Royals.

Shreyas Iyer injured his shoulder while fielding in the fifth over of Royal’s innings. In the fifth over of Anrich Nortje, Ben Stokes was on the strike, he punched one down the ground and Shreyas Iyer, who was standing at mid-off, dived over the ball to stop it but landed accidentally on it.

Shreyas Iyer saved the boundary for his side and ended up injuring his shoulder. At that moment, he looked in great pain and called medical help instantly. But it didn’t make much of a difference as Shreyas Iyer took no chance and left the field on the spot. In his absence, Shikhar Dhawan took the charge of the team.

The injury might be serious as Shikhar Dhawan came to attend the post-match presentation at his place. Dhawan, speaking in the post-match presentation gave an update regarding Shreyas Iyer’s shoulder injury. Dhawan said Iyer is in pain but his shoulder is still moving.

“He’s in pain but his shoulder is moving. We’ll get the proper report tomorrow,” said Dhawan.
