Twitter Removes Verification Badge From MS Dhoni’s Account
MS Dhoni's last tweet is dated January 8, 2021 which also happens to be nothing but an Instagram link.
Microblogging site Twitter remains in the news for some reason or the other. Today it was for removing the blue tick (verification badge) from the Twitter account of former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
This is not the first time that a public figure’s blue tick has been removed on Twitter. Earlier, Twitter had removed the blue tick from the account of Vice President Venkaiah Naidu. Later the blue tick was restored on his account as well.
Not only this, a few days ago the blue tick was removed from the Twitter account of many Sangh leaders including RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat but later they restored it.
Why Twitter Has Removed Blue Tick From MS Dhoni’s Account?
There is no clarity on why such a step has been taken by Twitter. The only thing that might have worked against him is that he does not use his Twitter account too often and has been inactive on a microblogging website for quite a while now. Dhoni’s last tweet is dated January 8, 2021 which also happens to be nothing but an Instagram link.
Having retired from international cricket on August 15, 2020, Dhoni now only plays in the Indian Premier League and will be back in action when the UAE leg of IPL resumes in September.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the schedule for the remainder of IPL. A total of 31 matches will be played in the duration of 27 days. Mumbai Indians will lock horns with CSK on September 19 to resume IPL 2021. The final game of the league stage will be played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals on October 8.
