IPL 2021: RCB Rope In Wanindu Hasaranga, Dushmantha Chameera And Tim David For The UAE Leg

In a recent development, IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have signed three massive replacements, including the Sri Lanka duo of Wanindu Hasaranga and Dushmantha Chameera for the second leg of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Royal Challengers Bangalore, on Saturday confirmed that Fin Allen, Adam Zampa, and Daniel Sams will not be available for the second phase of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League.

The franchise has also signed Singapore based Australian batsman Tim David who keep impressing in the other leagues with his hitting prowess.

While Tim David replaces Australian all-rounder Daniel Sams, Chameera on the other hand is roped in as Finn Allen’s replacement.

Notably, Allen has been named in New Zealand’s squad for the tour of Bangladesh so he will not be available for the cash-rich league while Sams’ exclusion could be due to bio-bubble stress.

Hasaranga was impressive in the T20I series against India. He picked up eight wickets and also played a crucial role with the bat in the last couple of matches to help his side seal the series.

Chameera was also brilliant with the ball in the white-ball series against India. He can do wonders with the new ball and could be a good replacement. Chameera scalped four wickets in three T20I’s against India while conceding around 5 runs per over. 

Tim David is an experienced T20 player. The 25-year old has already played BBL, PSL and T20 Vitality Blast. In 49 matches, he has scored 1171 runs at a brilliant strike-rate of 155.

“We have made some changes to the squad pertaining to the situation,” Hesson said during a media briefing.

“We have come a long way and have shown steady progress as a team. The addition of Wanindu Hasaranga, Tim David and Dushmantha Chameera couldn’t have come at a better time during the replacement window, as we aim to continue with the momentum, building on our performance from earlier this year.”

Royal Challengers Bangalore will resume IPL.2021 on September 20, 2021 as they will lock horns against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
