IPL 2020: Virender Sehwag Picks His Best XI of The Tournament

Former Indian opener and legend Virender Sehwag has picked his best XI after the conclusion of the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League, chose Virat Kohli as the captain of the team.

Former Indian opener and legend Virender Sehwag has picked his best XI after the conclusion of the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League. Starting from number one, he picked the orange cap winner of the tournament and Kings XI Punjab’s skipper KL Rahul. He scored 670 runs in 14 games with an average of 55.83 and strike rate of 129.34.

Along with KL Rahul, he picked Royal Challengers Bangalore’s young opener Devdutt Padikkal, who made his debut in the tournament this year. He scored fifty in his first game of the tournament. He has performed so well for his franchise and also awarded with ‘Emerging player of the tournament’. Padikkal accumulated 473 runs in 15 games with a strike rate of 124.80.

For number three, Sehwag went with Mumbai Indians’ (MI) Suryakumar Yadav, who impressed all the cricketing fraternity with his phenomenal batting skills. He is the most consistent batsman of Mumbai Indians. SKY scored 480 runs in 16 games with 79* as his highest score.

Sehwag picked his best XI while speaking on Cricbuzz Live. As his skipper, he was confused between Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) David Warner and Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) Virat Kohli. However, in the end, he picked preferred going with 32-year-old Virat Kohli.

At number six, Sehwag picked Royal Challengers Bangalore’s star player AB de Villiers. He has played 15 games in the tournament and scored 454 runs.

For bowling attack, Sehwag picked Mumbai Indians Jasprit Bumrah, Delhi Capitals’ Kagiso Rabada and Kings XI Punjab’s Mohammed Shami.

Kagiso Rabada is the purple cap winner of the tournament with 30 wickets in 17 games. Whereas, Jasprit Bumrah is second in the tally with 27 wickets in 15 games. Mohammed Shami has also played his part for Kings XI Punjab.

Sehwag picked SRH’s Rashid Khan and RCB’s Yuzvendra Chahal as spinner specialist. While Rashid Khan took 20 wickets in 16 games, Chahal took 21 wickets in 15 games.

As his 13th and 12th man, Sehwag chose Rajasthan Royals’ Jofra Archer, who was awarded ‘the Most Valuable Player’ of the tournament and Mumbai’s Ishan Kishan, who holds the record of hitting the most number of sixes (30) in the tournament.
