IND vs AUS: T Natarajan Flaunts Team India’s Retro Jersey

Pacer T Natarajan, who earned a maiden India call-up for the T20I series, shared a glimpse of his new retro kit on Wednesday

Thangarasu Natarajan’s dream came true on Wednesday, when he wore the Indian jersey. The left-arm pacer took to social media to share a glimpse of his India jersey, the retro kit resembling the 1992 World Cup shirt.

India will be wearing a newly-designed jersey which will resemble the 1992 World Cup kit. Virat Kohli’s men have followed the footsteps of the likes of New Zealand and Australia who had recently opted for retro kits.

T Natarajan is currently in Sydney with other team members, serving mandatory 14-day quarantine period. Natarajan earned a maiden India call-up for the upcoming T20I series in Australia after he impressed all the cricketing fraternity with his elegant way of bowling in the just concluded Indian Premier League. He was a part of SunRisers Hyderabad in IPL 2020, where he played a key role and took many big wickets for his side.

The left-arm pacer was picked for the T20I series, starting December 4 in Canberra, as a replacement for Varun Chakravarthy who was ruled out due to an injury.

While sharing his picture in Indian jersey, Natarajan wrote, “That special feel of wearing this special jersey #TeamIndia #TrustInDreams.”

Natarajan’s journey from a small village near Salem in Tamil Nadu to India’s T20I side is nothing less than a dream come true. The 29-year-old has worked hard for his journey and is now reaping its rewards.

Recently, the BCCI also shared a video of Natarajan’s first-ever bowling session in Team India nets, where the pacer was seen troubling batsmen with his tight line and length.

“We have seen him bowl with a lot of success in the @IPL and here is @Natarajan_91 bowling in the #TeamIndia nets for the first time after his maiden India call-up! A dream come true moment,” BCCI captioned the video.

Natarajan picked 16 wickets in IPL 2020 for Sunrisers Hyderabad and became the key bowler of David Warner led side. Natrajan caught the attention of the cricket fraternity after bowling accurate yorkers in pressure situations. In Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s absence, he took up responsibility on his shoulder created havoc with the ball.

The left-arm seamer bowled the Royal Challengers Bangalore premium batsman AB de Villiers with a toe-crushing yorker which changed things for him.
