Kuldeep Yadav Named As Replacement As Washington Ruled Out of West Indies T20Is

Off-spinner Washington Sundar has been ruled out of the upcoming T20I series in Kolkata due to a hamstring strain. Kuldeep Yadav replaces him in the 18-man squad.

India all-rounder Washington Sudar, on Monday ruled out of the three-match T20 International series against the West Indies owing to a hamstring strain.

The Tamil Nadu player suffered a left hamstring muscle strain during fielding in the third ODI against the West Indies played in Ahmedabad on Friday, said Board of Control for Cricket in India’s secretary Jay Shah in a statement.

”All-rounder Washington Sundar suffered a left hamstring muscle strain during fielding in the third ODI against the West Indies played at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Friday. He is ruled out of the upcoming three-match Paytm T20I Series to be played in Kolkata from 16th February,” the BCCI said in a statement.

Meanwhile, the All-India Senior Selection Committee has announced Kuldeep Yadav as Washington’s replacement for T20Is against West Indies. Kuldeep played in the third ODI against West Indies, and scalped 2 wickets in 8 overs while conceding 51 runs. Kuldeep last played T20Is for India during a 3-match series against Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka last year in August.
