The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), on Sunday (May 22nd) announced the 18-member squad against South Africa for the upcoming T20I series.
KL Rahul will be leading the team in the absence of regular white-ball captain Rohit Sharma. Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant has been named Rahul’s deputy.
Meanwhile all-rounder Hardik Pandya and wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik have made comebacks to the squad while left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh and Sunrisers Hyderabad pace sensation Umran Malik have got their maiden call-ups.
Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ishan Kishan and Venkatesh Iyet have been retained despite having an average outing in the ongoing edition of the IPL.
