Mohammad Amir Signs Up With Pune Devils For Abu Dhabi T10 League; Tournament to Begin in January 2021
Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir has been signed by Pune Devils for the upcoming edition of the Abu Dhabi T10 league.
Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir is all set to feature in another franchise after providing his services to Galle Gladiators in the Lanka Premier League. The left-arm pacer has been signed by Pune Devils for the upcoming edition of the Abu Dhabi T10 league. The official page of T10 League, on Wednesday, has confirmed the news on Twitter. Notably, Karnataka Tuskers have been renamed as Pune Devils.
Amir took retirement from Test cricket in July 2019 and since then he has been busy playing franchise cricket all over the world.
Amir has recently featured in the inaugural edition of the Lanka Premier League, where he played for the Galle Gladiators and was instrumental in guiding them to the LPL 2020 final where they eventually finished as runners up after losing to Jaffna Stallions by 53 runs.
The left-arm pacer had a brilliant tournament as he finished as the fifth-highest wicket-taker with 11 wickets in 10 games including a stunning five-wicket haul as he helped Gladiators bounce back from a disastrous start to finish as runners-up. He will now look to perform the same way in the upcoming Abu Dhabi T10 League. Amir has an experience of playing in the Abu Dhabi T10 League in the past as he previously has represented Maratha Arabians in the tournament.
The Abu Dhabi T10 league was first scheduled to play from November 18-29 but due to Covid-19 pandemic the tournament was postponed and now it will be played from January 28 to February 6 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi.
The eight sides that will participate in the upcoming edition are Team Abu Dhabi, Maratha Arabians, Bangla Tigers, Deccan Gladiators, Qalandars, Delhi Bulls, Northern Warriors, and Pune Devils.
