Pakistan decimated the Netherlands by six wickets in their must-win game of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022 on Sunday, October 30 at Perth Stadium, Australia.
The Men in Green chased down the paltry target of 92 runs in just with Mohammad Rizwan top-scoring with 49 runs from 39 deliveries. Skipper Babar Azam once again couldn’t get runs under his belt while Fakhar Zaman (20) and Shan Masood (12) chipped in with handy contributions.
For the Netherlands, Brandon Glover picked two wickets while conceding 22 runs in his 2.5 overs spell. Paul van Meekeren picked a wicket while giving away 19 runs in his complete quota of four overs.
Earlier, an all-round bowling performance by Pakistan restricted the Netherlands to 91/9 in 20 overs with only Colin Ackermann (27 off 27) and Scott Edwards (15 off 20) managing to score in double-digit figures.
For Pakistan, Shadab Khan picked a three-wicket haul while Mohammad Wasim Jr got two scalps to his name. The pace troika of Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah, and Haris Rauf got one brace each.
