IPL 2023 Retention: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) Retained And Released Players List
Sunrisers Hyderabad is set to release their former captain Kane Williamson ahead of IPL 2023 mini-auction.
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) had another underwhelming IPL 2022 season as they failed to make it to the playoffs of the cash-rich league.
Though they managed to win six matches out of 14 and amassed 12 points, they finished the season in the 8th spot out of league standings.
The Hyderabad-based franchise has been in chaos for straight two seasons. They sacked David Warner in the 2021 edition of the tournament and handed over the captaincy duties to Kane Williamson.
However, ever since Williamson took over the reins of the team, he looked completely out of touch with his bat. He could manage only 216 runs at a poor average of 19.64 and a strike rate of 93.
The 2016 champions of IPL did a decent job in the mega-auction, held earlier in February. While some players did live up to the expectations, few were there who couldn’t justify their price tag.
For the next season of the tournament, the 2016 champions will look to get rid of some players and assemble a new squad ahead of the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League.
