PAK vs ENG: Naseem Shah Likely To Be Ruled Out Of 2nd Test In Multan
Naseem Shah's participation in the second Test against England has become doubtful.
In what comes as another blow for Pakistan, their star young pacer Naseem suffered a shoulder injury and is expected to miss the second Test against England, starting December 9 at Multan.
The speedster did not even bowl in the training session in Multan. His unavailability will make things worse for the hosts as they are already without the services of their star pacers Haris Rauf and Shaheen Afridi.
Haris Rauf, who made his Test debut for Pakistan at Rawalpindi injured his quadriceps and was ruled out for the entire series. Meanwhile, Shaheen Afridi has been advised two to three weeks of rehab after he faced an injury in the final of the T20 World Cup.
Nassem Shah missing out on the Multan Test will increase the chances of a debut for Mohammad Wasim Jnr who along with Mohammad Ali, who made his Test debut in Rawalpindi are the only specialist fast bowlers left in the Pakistan squad.
England thrashed Pakistan in the first test by 74 runs and would be keen on taking an unassailable lead in the series when they take on Pakistan in the second Test. Earlier, they announced their playing XI for the Multan contest.
Mark Wood is all set to make a comeback as he completed his recovery and replaced Liam Livingstone in England’s lineup for the second Test. The hard-hitting all-rounder picked up an injury during the first Test and has flown back to England for rehabilitation.
