IPL 2023: Ashish Nehra Reveals Batting Position of Kane Williamson for Gujarat Titans
Gujarat Titans snapped the services of Kane Williamson at the base price of INR 2 crore.

Gujarat Titans (GT) acquired the services of veteran New Zealand batter Kane Williamson in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 mini-auction on Friday, December 23, in Kochi.
Williamson was the first player to go under the hammer in the auction and the defending champions snapped his services at the base price of INR 2 Crore.
Kane Williamson represented the Sunrisers Hyderabad last season, where he endured a lean patch of form with the bat in the season and struggled to get runs under his belt. As a result, Sunrisers Hyderabad parted ways with him ahead of the IPL auction.
Kane Williamson will bat at number 3 for GT: Ashish Nehra
Gujarat Titans’ head coach Ashish Nehra, during an interaction with Sportstar, revealed the reason behind the signing, stating that Williamson will bring a lot of experience to the team as he is a proven player.
“He is a proven player. He has dealt with elbow issues over the last couple of seasons and didn’t have an excellent last season. You have to have a combination of experience and youth. Kane Williamson brings a lot to any team, not just GT.”
Nehra further added that Williamson will bat at number three in the upcoming season of the 16th edition of the IPL with Hardik coming at four.
“Yes, of course. Somebody like Kane Williamson, you are looking at batting at No. 3. Hardik batted at No. 3 only once last year, otherwise he batted at No. 4. With Williamson at 3, Hardik will continue to bat at No. 4.”
