KL Rahul Misses Out As BCCI Announces Squad For New Zealand Series

KL Rahul will miss the entire New Zealand series due to personal reasons.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), on Friday, January 14 announced squads for India’s upcoming white-ball series against New Zealand.

Hardik Pandya will once again lead the Men in Blue in the T20I series against New Zealand while Suryakumar Yadav is named as the vice-captain.

Prithvi Shaw has also been added to India’s T20I squad. Ruturaj Gaikwad has also returned to the squad while Deepak Hooda retained his place in the T20I team.

India’s regular captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have missed the cut in the team while KL Rahul is set to miss the entire New Zealand series owing to personal reasons.

The Ranchi batter Ishan Kishan retains his spot as the second wicket-keeper, while Andhra batter KS Bharat has received a maiden call-up to India’s ODI squad.

Apart from Bharat’s call-up, all-rounder, Shahbaz Ahmed has also returned to the squad as Axar Patel too, asked for a leave and will miss the entire New Zealand series owing to family reasons.
