IND vs WI: No Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma As BCCI Announces T20I Squad for West Indies Series

IND vs WI - Hardik Pandya will lead the T20I team with Suryakumar Yadav being appointed as the vice-captain for West Indies Series.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India, on Wednesday, July 6, announced the T20I squad for the upcoming tour of West Indies, where they are scheduled to play five T20I matches against West Indies.

The tour also includes two Test matches and three ODI matches. Senior players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have been given rest to manage their workload. They will be playing in the Test and ODI series against West Indies.

Hardik Pandya will lead the T20I team with Suryakumar Yadav being appointed as the vice-captain. In a significant breakthrough, Tilak Verma and Yashasvi Jaiswal have earned their maiden T20I call-up following their stellar IPL season.

Among bowlers, Ravi Bishnoi has finally made his way back into the India team. Spearheading the pace attack, India has picked Arshdeep Singh, Umran Malik, and Mukesh Kumar, while the spin duties will be aptly managed by Axar Patel and Yuzvendra Chahal.

Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan have been picked as wicket-keeper batters. While the overall selection has been pretty good, as the young players have been rewarded for their domestic and IPL performances, the exclusion of Rinku Singh and Jitesh Sharma has raised eyebrows in the cricketing fraternity.
