India's head coach, Rahul Dravid, introduced Shubman Gill to the legendary all-rounder from Barbados Sir Garfield Sobers.
Team India is currently on the tour of the West Indies and the United States for the multi-format series. They will begin their World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-2025 cycle with the two-match Test series against the West Indies, starting July 12 in Roseau, Dominica.
Ahead of the series, the Indian team had the honour of meeting the legendary Sir Garfield Sobers, who paid a visit to India’s training session. The BCCI shared a touching video on social media, capturing the heartfelt moments as the Indian players paid tribute to the 86-year-old cricketing maestro.
Meanwhile, India’s head coach, Rahul Dravid, introduced Shubman Gill to the legendary all-rounder from Barbados.
“Shubman Gill. One of our most young, exciting batsmen,” Dravid said.
Shubman Gill has been in the best form of his life lately. He started off the year 2023 with a string of magnificent centuries across formats.
In the Indian Premier League 2023, Gill was a force to be reckoned with, clinching the prestigious Orange Cap for accumulating a staggering 890 runs in 17 matches.
The Punjab batter will be one of the key batters for India to keep an eye on in the upcoming series against West Indies.
