At just 20 years and 271 days old, Varma has become the second youngest Indian batter to score a T20I half-century, following in the footsteps of Rohit Sharma, who achieved the milestone at 20 years and 143 days in 2007.

The Hyderabad batter surpassed Rishabh Pant’s milestone, who achieved his first T20I half-century at 21 years and 138 days. Here’s the complete list of the youngest Indian batters to reach a fifty in international cricket:
