[Watch] Babar Azam Loses Temper, Shows Finger to Mohammad Nabi After AFG vs PAK 2nd ODI
Pakistan's captain Babar Azam seemed visibly agitated, video went viral on social media
In a nail-biter, Pakistan defeated Afghanistan by one wicket in the second ODI of the ongoing three-match series in Hambantota on August 24, 2023, and took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series.
Chasing 301, Pakistan kickstarted their chase strongly, thanks to Imam-ul-Haq’s solid 91. However, Afghanistan’s bowlers fought back fiercely, picking quick wickets towards the end.
Meanwhile, the Men in Green swung back into the game as Shadab Khan smashed 48 off 35 balls and Naseem Shah sealed the deal with two boundaries in the last over.
In addition to the intense run-chase, the match took a controversial turn when Afghanistan’s bowler Fazalhaq Farooqi ran out Shadab at the non-striker’s end on the very first ball of the last over.
After the match, a video went viral on social media, showing players of both teams meeting and greeting each other. However, Pakistan’s captain Babar Azam seemed visibly agitated, sharing a few words with Mohammad Nabi. The umpires eventually intervened to calm the situation.

While the video did not offer a clear explanation for Babar’s frustration, it’s likely that both captains were exchanging views on the debated dismissal of Shadab Khan.
