Naseem Shah Ruled Out of ICC World Cup 2023, Hasan Ali Replaces Him in Pakistan Squad

Naseem Shah ruled out of ICC World Cup 2023 due to shoulder injury.

The Pakistan Cricket Board announced the squad for the ICC World Cup 2023 on Friday, September 22. As expected, Naseem Shah, who injured his shoulder during the Asia Cup 2023, has failed to make it to the squad, and Hasan Ali has replaced him.

The 20-year-old pacer suffered the injury during Pakistan’s Super 4 clash against arch-rival India in the Asia Cup. He walked off during the 46th over of the Indian innings after injuring the right shoulder muscle.

Losing Naseem Shah for the World Cup 2023 is a big blow for Pakistan because he was their go-to pacer, capable of striking at any stage of the match, unlike Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf, who mostly shine with the new ball.
