Babar Azam has expressed his confidence in the team's batting and bowling performance
Pakistan captain Babar Azam has expressed his confidence in the team’s batting and bowling prowess, as they gear up for their ICC World Cup 2023 opener against the Netherlands at Ahmedabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium on October 6.
Pakistan played a couple of warm-up matches before entering the ICC World Cup 2023, aiming to acclimate to the Indian conditions. However, they suffered defeats in both games. One positive aspect is that they gained valuable match experience.
Here’s what Babar Azam told PCB Digital on the evn of Pakistan vs Netherlands match:
“Both bowling and batting are our strengths. Our batters have been performing from the top-order down to the lower-order. Every player is stepping up and taking responsibility.”
Babar Azam also mentioned that the Pakistan spinners are in excellent form, performing well in both the warm-up matches and practice sessions:
“In bowling, our fast bowling has always been our strength, but even our spinners are showing promise. Since we have come to India, we have seen our spinners take wickets in the middle overs, which is a good sign. We will try and keep this momentum going.”
Pakistan captain Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan have been in top form with the bat during the warm-up matches, and they are now focused on carrying this momentum forward to help Pakistan secure their first win in the tournament, setting a strong foundation for the tournament ahead.
