ICC World Cup 2023: Rahul Dravid Reacts to Rachin Ravindra’s Century Against England

Rachin Ravindra played an outstanding innings of 123 runs from just 96 balls

Team India’s head coach, Rahul Dravid, has reacted to New Zealand’s young batting sensation Rachin Ravindra’s century knock against England in the ICC World Cup 2023 opener, which saw New Zealand win the game convincingly by nine wickets.

Chasing 283, Rachin Ravindra played an outstanding innings, amassing an unbeaten 123 runs from just 96 balls. Alongside him, Devon Conway also excelled with an unbeaten 152 runs. Together, they formed a historic partnership of 273 runs, guiding New Zealand to victory in just 36.2 overs.

For those who may not know, Rachin Ravindra, with Indian heritage, was named by his father, a devoted fan of the legendary Indian cricketers Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid. His father combined the names [‘Ra’ from Rahul and ‘Chin’ from Sachin] to give his son the distinctive Indian name Rachin.

“Maybe the “chin” in him helped him more than “Ra” in the game against England”.

Team India will kick off their World Cup campaign against Australia on Sunday, October 8 in Chennai. The much-awaited India vs Pakistan match is scheduled to be played on October 14 at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
