ICC World Cup 2023: ‘Get Rizwan in Movies’ – Simon Doull Mocks Mohammad Rizwan’s Pain During PAK vs SL Clash
Mohammad Rizwan made 176 runs partnership with Abdullah Shafique after two quick setbacks
The eighth match of the ICC World Cup 2023 is being played between Pakistan and Sri Lanka at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Hyderabad.
Opting to bat after winning the toss, Sri Lanka witnessed an extraordinary performance from Kusal Mendis and Sameera Samarawickrama, both scoring centuries. This impressive display led Sri Lanka to a mammoth total of 344 runs in their 50 overs.
Pakistan’s run-chase began on a dismal note, with the early dismissals of their opener, Imam Ul Haq, and captain Babar Azam. However, Mohammad Rizwan and Abdullah Shafique then seized control, forging a remarkable 176-run partnership for the third wicket, until Shafique was eventually dismissed after scoring 113 runs.
Meanwhile, Rizwan continued to launch an assault from one end. However, it was apparent that he was grappling with discomfort, showing signs of a back problem and leg cramps. During one particular moment in the match, Rizwan hit a six and then collapsed on the ground, and looked in terrible pain.
During moments when commentators and fans typically express sympathy for a player, there was a contrasting observation involving the English commentator team. They were seen chuckling after witnessing Rizwan lying on the ground in pain.
Meanwhile, the former New Zealand player Simon Doull, now a commentator, even went as far as suggesting that Rizwan should consider a career in movies, playfully hinting that his on-field actions resembled those of an actor.
