ICC World Cup 2023: “How’s that possible when you have cramps?” – Irfan Pathan Raises Eyebrows Over Mohammad Rizwan’s ‘Leg Cramp’ Claims
Former Indian cricketer turned commentator, Irfan Pathan expressed his skepticism about Rizwan's leg cramp
In a stunning display of batting, Pakistan, led by Mohammad Rizwan’s century, chased down the 345-run target against Sri Lanka in the ICC World Cup 2023, notching up their second consecutive win on Tuesday, October 10 at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Hyderabad.
Rizwan’s blazing innings saw him finish unbeaten on 134 runs from 121 deliveries, including nine boundaries and three powerful sixes. But it was not at all smooth sailing as the wicket-keeper batter was battling back pain and leg cramps. At one moment, he even went down and collapsed after hitting a six.
Meanwhile, the former Indian cricketer, who has transitioned into a commentator, Irfan Pathan expressed his skepticism about Rizwan’s leg cramp while observing his agility in taking swift singles and doubles. Here’s what Irfan Pathan said:
“Mohammad Rizwan looks completely fine when he’s running between the wickets. How’s that possible when you have cramps?”
Earlier, the former New Zealand player turned commentator, Simon Doull, also highlighted the same and even jokingly suggested that Mohammad Rizwan could pursue a career in acting, implying that Rizwan might have been exaggerating his on-field pain.
