Afghanistan, having won the toss earlier, chose to bat first, and their decision seemed to pay off as they posted a total of 291 runs on the scoreboard, with Ibrahim Zadran leading the charge, scoring an impressive 129 runs from 143 balls. Rashid Khan, in a brief cameo, added a brisk 35 runs from just 18 balls.
