Pakistan Cricket Board Set to Fire Foreign Coaches Following Disappointing World Cup 2023 Performance – Report

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is set to terminate the contracts of all foreign support staff members following the team’s subpar performance in the 2023 World Cup, falling short of a semifinal berth.

According to Samaa TV, a renowned Pakistani news channel, Pakistan head coach Grant Bradburn, team director Mickey Arthur, and batting coach Andrew Puttick are likely to be released after the team’s underwhelming performance in the World Cup 2023 in India.

There are also reports that PCB is considering a change in captaincy, looking beyond Babar Azam due to the team’s disappointing performance. The front-runners for Pakistan’s white-ball captaincy include Mohammed Rizwan and Shaheen Shah Afridi.

The report further added that PCB chief Zaka Ashraf is set to hold an emergency meeting with former captain Younis Khan on Tuesday and announce the decision.

Pakistan finished fifth in the points table with four wins from nine matches. Notably, this was the second ODI World Cup in a row where Pakistan failed to reach the semi finals.
