Having reached the playoffs in both of their initial IPL seasons, Lucknow Super Giants, unfortunately, met eliminations in the eliminator stage, each time at the hands of Royal Challengers Bangalore. As they head into IPL 2024, the team is actively preparing to enhance their squad with promising talent from the upcoming auction.

Before the auction, they orchestrated trades, involving the transfer of West Indies all-rounder Romario Shepherd to Mumbai Indians in a financial deal. Additionally, they engaged in a player-to-player exchange, securing Devdutt Padikkal and sending pacer Avesh Khan to Rajasthan Royals.
