NZ vs PAK: ‘Henry Ne 50 Bhi Runs Khaye’ – Shaheen Afridi Supports Haris Rauf Amid Criticism

Pakistan cricket team endured three consecutive losses on their current tour of New Zealand

Pakistan star fast bowler Shaheen Afridi faced a disastrous start to his T20I captaincy as the Men in Green suffered three consecutive losses on their current tour of New Zealand, resulting in a series defeat.

Following their first two T20I defeats, the Pakistan cricket team endured a 45-run defeat against New Zealand in the 3rd T20I match played on Wednesday, January 17, at the University of Otago Oval, Dunedin.

Apart from the batting woes, the experienced pacer Haris Rauf had a disappointing performance, conceding 60 runs in his four-over spell. Despite the backlash from critics, skipper Shaheen Afridi has stood by the out-of-form bowler.

In his post-game remarks, Afridi lauded Rauf as Pakistan’s top T20I bowler, highlighting the inevitable ups and downs in every athlete’s journey. The fast bowler also humorously criticized fans and media for their hypocrisy.

“Haris Rauf is our best T20 bowler. When we win you rate him as the best, but when we lose then he is the problem. Matt Henry also conceded 50+ runs, it happens,” Shaheen Afridi said in the post-match conference.
