IND vs ENG: ‘KL Rahul Should Bat At…’ – Aakash Chopra’s Suggestion to Team India Ahead of First Test

Former Indian cricketer turned commentator suggested KL Rahul batting position in the absence of Virat Kohli

Aakash Chopra, former Indian cricketer and commentator, suggests that KL Rahul should take the number four spot for Team India in the absence of Virat Kohli in the first test against England.

Team India suffered a big blow ahead of the first test against England in Hyderabad as Virat Kohli, their key player, pulled out of the first two matches due to personal reasons.

While the Board of Control for Cricket in India has not officially named Kohli’s replacement, there are reports indicating that Rajat Patidar has been called up to step in for the renowned Indian batter.

“I feel you might see KL Rahul batting at No. 4 because Kohli isn’t there, and you can get KS Bharat to keep. You can play Ravindra Jadeja at No. 6 and Bharat at No. 7 or vice versa, that’s entirely up to you,” Aakash Chopra has said in his YouTube channel.

Meanwhile, KL Rahul will play a specialist batter in the series, with no wicket-keeping duties. The decision leaves the wicket-keeping gloves to be taken up by either Dhruv Jurel or KS Bharath.
