‘Called Us Pathetic and Hopeless’ – Kraigg Brathwaite Reveals Motivation Behind West Indies’ Historic Win Over Australia
Kraigg Brathwaite revealed former Australia cricketer harsh words fueled their victory over Australia after 27 years
After nearly three decades, West Indies finally tasted success in an Australian Test match. Despite being labelled as the underdogs, the young and slightly inexperienced squad pulled off the ‘impossible’, snatching an 8-run win at the Gabba on January 28, Sunday.
Meanwhile, West Indies skipper Kraigg Brathwaite revealed what fueled their victory Down Under. He stated that the former Australia cricketer, Rodney Hogg’s harsh words labelling the West Indies team as ‘pathetic and hopeless’ were the driving force behind their triumph.
“I must say we had two words that inspired us in this Test match, Mr. Rodney Hogg said that we were ‘pathetic and hopeless’. That was our inspiration. We wanted to show the world we are not pathetic. And I must ask him, are these muscles big enough for him,” Kraigg Brathwaite said at the post-match presentation.
