Rohit Sharma Names Two Qualities Every Young Player Needs to Learn from Virat Kohli
Rohit Sharma mentioned about the qualities that he wants youngsters to learn from Virat Kohli.
Rohit Sharma, captain of the Indian team, showers compliments on Virat Kohli, the seasoned batter, highlighting the wealth of knowledge one can acquire from Kohli’s on-field prowess and off-field demeanour.
In a conversation with Dinesh Karthik on Jio Cinema, Sharma delved into Kohli’s brilliance, outlining key lessons young cricketers can extract from one of the greatest batters in history.
“Virat Kohli has never been to NCA in his entire career. I would say that all the younger players should look up to the passion that he has. Leave alone how he plays the cover drive, flick, cut but first things first you have to understand what is the quality of the players that makes him where he is today,” Rohit Sharma said in a conversation with Dinesh Karthik on Jio Cinema.
Sharma further stated that the young guns should pick up a few tips from Kohli. It’s not just about the batting tricks; it’s about mirroring the standards he maintains and the insatiable hunger to play.
“I have watched Kohli enough. He can easily be satisfied with what he has achieved. He can say that I will take it easy in these 2-3 series, I will come later, but he is always there for the team. That mindset of being hungry and not complacent cannot be taught. You have to learn that from looking at the others. It has to come from within. I cannot teach you that,” Sharma said.
Virat Kohli pulled out of the first two Test matches against England due to personal reasons and he is expected to join the Indian team for the 3rd Test match of the series.
