Former Indian cricketer, Sanjay Manjrekar, believes that Suryakumar Yadav, also known as Mr. 360, could have eyed the captaincy for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 after filling in for Rohit Sharma last season. However, with Hardik Pandya taking the helm, Manjrekar hints at an ‘entertaining’ IPL ahead.
While most, especially Mumbai Indians fans, envisioned Suryakumar Yadav or Jasprit Bumrah assuming the captain’s role following Rohit Sharma’s departure, the franchise’s owners had different thoughts. Their unexpected choice of Hardik Pandya as captain for the 2024 IPL season came as a surprise to many.

“Surya thought that he might have been able to lead MI this season. But Hardik Pandya won’t let that affect him. It will be entertaining.”
