Notably, the Blackcaps’ preparation for the T20 World Cup 2024 includes a tour of Pakistan, but key players like Kane Williamson, Daryl Mitchell, Trent Boult, Rachin Ravindra, Glenn Phillips, Devon Conway, Mitchell Santner, and Lockie Ferguson will be preoccupied with their IPL franchises.
A Geo Super report indicates that these New Zealand stars are unlikely to abandon their IPL obligations midway.
During the IPL season of 2023, Pakistan arranged a white-ball series against New Zealand, causing a less-experienced New Zealand squad to tour Pakistan while their top players participated in the IPL.
Despite this, New Zealand achieved a 2-2 tie in the T20I series but suffered a 4-1 defeat in the ODI series.
