‘Loyalty Above All’ – Virat Kohli Celebrates 16 Years With RCB Ahead of IPL 2024
On this day, Virat Kohli joined RCB 16 years ago.
Today is a big day for the Indian batting giant, Virat Kohli, and the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team. Kohli has dedicated 16 years to RCB in the Indian Premier League (IPL), making him the only player to achieve this feat for a single team in the tournament’s history.
He joined RCB in 2008 after leading the U-19 Indian Cricket World Cup team to victory. Over the years, Kohli has been RCB’s best batter and one of the top scorers in IPL history.
In 2016, he had an outstanding season, scoring over 900 runs, including four centuries. Although RCB didn’t win the finals that year, Kohli’s performance was remarkable.
Besides batting, Kohli also led the team as captain for many seasons. However, in 2022, he stepped down from captaincy, allowing Faf du Plessis to take over.
RCB celebrated Kohli’s 16-year journey with a special video on social media, showing his memorable moments with the team and expressing their love and loyalty to him.
